Sweet Bejeebus!

That Pesky White Stuff

I could listen to Cat Power singing Lived In Bars all day and night. Of course I would have to stop once Troy is home from work. Don’t want to drive the poor boy nuts just yet. πŸ˜‰

Anyway, I survived the annual family get-together #1 by eating a lot of peanuts and carrots, playing some pool rather badly (didn’t score any points, but it killed the time), and helping my team of three win the 80s Trivial Pursuit (mostly to avoid the karaoke session). Surprisingly, I knew some stuff that the North Americans didn’t, including the answer to the final question. Oh, and I got a pretty cool gift from the gift exchange thingy: a scrapbooking kit. Sweet bejeebus! That’s something that I could actually use! The annual family get-together #2 is next weekend. We’ll see if I survive that one.

Oooh, oooh, and something exciting happened last night. We bought the Canon Digital Rebel XTi a.k.a. the Canon EOS 400D online! It was on sale at Future Shop — almost $100 off the regular price — so we thought we’d bite the bullet and buy it even though we couldn’t afford to buy a big memory card and a spare battery just yet. The camera is supposed to arrive in the mail on Wednesday. I can’t wait! I’m giddy with anticipation. Until we can afford a bigger memory card, I guess I’ll have to make do with Troy’s 128MB CF card and just take a few pictures at a time with the camera. πŸ™‚

To make things even better, we’ve brought home some turkey leftover from the get-together. I’m definitely making some deep-fried turkey soup with vermicelli for lunch AND supper today! Mmm, deep-fried turkey… Life is good.

  1. Enjoy your new toy! Being a constant reader of your blog I know how much you wanted it. And come Wednesday you’ll have it. The excitement will surely reach unimaginable levels in Firda and Troy’s house. πŸ™‚ And us, the readers will sure get some gorgeous photos to look at. It’s a win – win situation. πŸ™‚

  2. Fabulous!
Great blog Frida, I really like your style and sense of humour. I spent 9 months in Ontario so your pics make me feel a little homesick. I am managing a blog at the moment that you might find a little quirky and well different, maybe you could visit some time at fullmonto.com. We have an outback australian rugby league team attempting to do a beefcake calendar for brain injury (one of thier team mates aquired a brain injury). Anyway it’s a great story (I believe) and I’m going to keep reading your blog.

  3. HI Firda!
Just occured to me that you would be really good at digi-scrapping. You have lovely photographs as well as a good eye for design.
